A Strange Phone Call Is Received at Cookie Drive Headquarters, USA

Operator: “Cookie Drive Headquarters; how may I help you today?

Unidentified Caller: “Is this the Cookie Drive Operations Center? The Situation Room? The Office of the CEO?”

O: “Well, sir, this is the office from whence all cookies are driven. We like to call it, ‘the SUV Vortex, Station Wagon Central, Minivan Heaven.’ What is it that we can do for you here at the Heavenly Vortex?”

UC: “I was hoping to speak with the Supreme Cookie Driver!”

O: “Oh, sir, I just know we can satisfy your sweet tooth today! Our girls are prepared to knock on thirty-seven million doors and set up shop in front of three point eight million big box stores to serve you wherever you may . . . .”

UC: “Just put the CEO on the line, dear. Save the statistics for my people.”

O: “There is a small problem with that, sir. Our ‘Supreme Cookie Driver,’ as you put it, has just lifted off aboard Green Dress Number One, bound for Seattle.”

UC: “Seattle? What’s in Seattle?

O: “I’m afraid I can’t disclose Girl Scout Ops, sir. Her mission is top secret, strictly hush-hush.”

UC: “Sounds like the kind of gal I need for the job I have in mind.”

O: “Sir! Please do not even think of raiding our Corporate Sweet . . . er, Suite! We would be lost without her!”

UC: “Aw, take a Valium, miss! I don’t want one person, sister; I want the whole she-bang. Just connect me with your CEO.”

O: “Since Cookie Fairy Supreme is away, sir, may I transfer you to Cookie Creations Laboratories? Sir? It sounds as if you may have a new product concept to discuss with our people in Cookie Creations . . . .”

UC: “I’ve discussed conception with a woman or two in my time, you bet I have. It’s been said that my conception discussion skills are second to none. Why, once, I spent all night discussing conception with the Princess of . . . .”

O: “Excuse you, sir; your line of . . . well, your line seems to have wandered . . . .”
